Speach recognition for programming |

Jeff Newlin Lightspeed | I have been using delphi since 1998. In the last few years I have developed essential tremor in my right hand that is beginning to really slow down my typing. I'm curious if anyone has used speech recognition software to program in delphi. I can see my condition worsening over time (I still have no problem with one hand thankfully).
Just curious if anyone has tried this with delphi? Thanks! Jeff |

Whilst I've never tried it with Delphi I have tried speech recognition several times - the last occasion was about 5 years ago when I had a frozen shoulder and I was underwhelmed by the results. I achieved less than 50% recognition on homophones and don't even talk about trying to get it to do cursor commands. I used Dragon Naturally Speaking and spent a long time training it. Five years is a long time in IT so things may have improved remarkably since then. One thing I would say is that if you have a go buy the best noise canceling micophone you can afford. Roy Lambert |

Unfortunately, I haven't tried anything to that effect yet, but I would imagine that voice recognition software would definitely be something that would be do-able, if my phone is any indication of the usability of it.
