Deployment of ElevateDB |

Ivan | I am new to using the ElevateDB Client/Server product and would like to understand the Deployment of this product better. I am developing a .NET application using the ElevateDB Unicode Server. The documentation seems a little light on when it comes to describing deployment and the various scenarios.
I plan to deploy the ElevateDB Server to a Server and have my Database files created as part of a setup/configuration process launched from my application but am lost as to what files need copying to the Database Folder on the Server. I know I can create script for the Database and it's associated objects however, I need some guidance. To put it bluntly, I am so new to this product that I would benifit greatly from a step by step guide ! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Raul Team Elevate | Hi Ivan,
Everything from DB side can be created automatically so really the only thing you need on server is the EDB server itself - and you can simply copy the relevant exe over (edbsrvr.exe) . If you have not already I suggest you take a look at the client/server application tutorial that walks thru the basic server config and startup as well as db/table creation. You would automate latter steps but doing it manually first walks you thru the steps and allows you to easily reverse engineer it to SQL then: http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=topics&id=edb2&product=s&version=2010§ion=client-server_application_tutorial Raul |

That should get you on the right path. As for the basics, what Raul said is correct. The only other thing that you may want to do is update/configure the edbsrvr.ini configuration file, and I'll cover this in the article. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Cheers guys thanks again for your assistance. |
