OT: D2006 on Win7 64b installation |

JonD | Has anyone installed D2006 on a Win 7 64b box?
I just treated myself to the new box but bump against the .NET framework v1.1 prerequisite (Win 7 says it has compatibility issues) I've installed .NET v4 but the installation program doesn't seem to be interested in later versions. JonD |

I haven't but I do remember seeing something on the CodeGear newsgroups pre their crash so I'd ask over there. Roy Lambert |

JonD | Roy,
I have found a number of references... one says to proceed with the installation and it works fine. However, messing up my brand new toy is not very attractive (with incompatible applications). One solution suggested running a virtual XP machine... JonD | Tim,
Did you just install the old .net files and simply ignore the compatibility warnings or did you use some other strategy? I've installed the virtual XP and was pleasantly surprised how that worked but installing in the "real" OS would be a better choice. JonD | Looks as though the default installation of D2006
(ignoring all warnings) works for me too (thanks Tim). Had trouble installing JCL/JVCL with their current release but an older one worked OK. It's nice to have a new box etc but the aggravations!! David Cornelius Cornelius Concepts | Perhaps you've already gotten around this issue (I need to check the
newsgroups more often), but the following site explains step-by-step how to get Delphi 2006 installed on Vista (same issue on Windows 7). It doesn't matter whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit--it's a .NET issue. http://www.drbob42.com/examines/examin84.htm The first half of the article talks about Delphi 7, but scroll half way down and there is Delphi 2006. Hope this helps! -- David Cornelius Cornelius Concepts "Jon Lloyd Duerdoth" wrote in message news:568014B6-905D-4715-816F-698763A83DC3@news.elevatesoft.com...
