I won't be (at least 2 days and £250 for me to attend) but I'm hoping you're going to take notes Smiley

I'd like to because I think I'm turning into a Luddite. Reading the list of what's on offer, and reading posts about XE2 (the latest that the version of FastReports included doesn't work) I just don't see any reason for excitement. Hopefully you will understand and can tell me.

Hi Roy

I went as far as to look at the registration form and read the travel
info .. but decided to play my usual golf that day.  What's the betting
that it turns out to be foul weather that day and I end up doing
neither!

I have fielded a number of enquiries about a Mac version of my main app
over the years so I am intrigued about that prospect, but on the iOS
side of things I will wait to see what EWB can do for me rather than
diving into RADPHP.

That is a clue to my age.  Surprised
I can hardly remember back to the days before retirement!

You're not going to miss much in terms of content. Social aspect and seeing other delphi programmers is nice though.

I attended the one in Toronto and it felt bit rushed - too many features that were all covered all too briefly. Q&A was useful not not much more what you can get from reading the Embarcadero NGs.

Couple of these videos are useful :http://www.youtube.com/user/EmbarcaderoTechNet
(VCL styles and Firemonkey ones cover relevant World Tour sections fully)

if you haven't i suggest you look at the XE2 DocWiki as it does cover details quite well.

I'm actually looking forward to Coderage this time (http://www.embarcadero.com/coderage). There is lot of content to cover so i have hopes (quality of presentations over the last few years has been less than stellar though IMHO).

I still think XE2 is a great release (at least from features delivered - we'll see how many bugs there are Frown

The whole VCL32/64 + OSx (many VCL components won't work in OSx)  issue needs to be sorted out and supported by vendors.

FireMonkey is a whole other beast for now in terms of needing new components and having number of limitations in what you can use and where (Win vs OSx vs iOS). I'll take a wait and see approach to it for now and will stick with XCode for OSX/iOS. I like the idea of a common framework but early posts indicate performance is slow on iOS so it definitely needs time to mature.

When is it on?  I thought the closest was Manchester so I wasn't going to bother.  Could you post a link?

That was something I was looking forward to. Now I think if I want to continue eating I'll be working at 148!

I have also had several request for a Mac version. I'm excited that
Delphi XE2 should provide that ability but I'm going to wait till it
becomes more stable. I have enough to learn jumpring from D5E to
D2010Pro.

Since XE2 has been released StackOverflow has been humming with new
questions about stuff not working.
