How install ElevateDB Help? |

Dominique Willems | Could anyone remind me how to install the ElevateDB help in the
Document Explorer? Update 4 kept my ElevateDB components, but threw out all the help. Thx! |

Dominique Willems | What I tried:
1) Merge the edb2rsdelphiwin32unixe2.ini information with the h2reg.ini information, resolving the correct path references; 2) H2Reg -u; 3) H2Reg -r; 4) look at log file and Elevate stuff seems integrated OK; 5) Kill the dexplore.exe process; 6) Start help. Mentions that stuff has changes and that it's working; 7) I click on contents. No Elevate stuff mentioned. F1 doesn't bring up context-sensitive help either. Brings me back to blessed DOS days. Anything else I missed? Thx. |

Dominique Willems | Okay, managed like a real trooper. Took a bit of voodoo and sacrifices.

Dominique Willems | Part II:
after upgrading to 2.08, the Elevate help is visible in the contents, but when I click on a topic, I get "The local disk does not contain the files for C:\Program Files\ElevateDB 2 VCL-STD\RAD Studio XE2 (Delphi Win32 Unicode)\help\edb2sql.hxs as expected" Tried to H2Reg -u and -r them, but to no avail. Anyone have any idea how to properly register the files? |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Dom,
<< Ooo, thanks! It's scary to fly blind like this. >> In case you didn't know, you can install any of the .elh help files (our own HTML help) into the EDB Manager: File/Preferences/Help Just select the help file using the browse button at the bottom, and then click on Add Help. From that point on, the installed help will be available in the EDB Manager's Help menu. You can find all of these .elh files in the \help subdirectory under the main installation directory. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

> In case you didn't know, you can install any of the .elh help files (our > own HTML help) into the EDB Manager: I never use the built in help system of Delphi 2010: it's so sloooooow. That's why I appreciate this very fast help in EDBManager. Thanks for that. Uli |

Uli Becker | Roy,
> You can replace 2010 with anything after 7, and add the fact that its not very good! That's true. For quick references (Run Time Library Reference) I use: http://www.delphibasics.co.uk/ There is an offline version as well, which is very useful as a quick reference. Uli |
