Embarcadero Change Manager |

"Rick Wheeler" | Has anyone had any experience with Change Manager and EDB? I'm thinking of
taking advantage of the BOGOF sale online and this looks like a useful tool. We use Unicode EDB so it needs to support this. Tried to trial the ContextSoft Database Manager but this doesn't seem to support Unicode. Any other ideas or suggestions? Rick. |

I use the reverse engineer function all the time but was not aware that it could compare schemas. Could you please provide an example of how to do this because this may suffice for my needs? Rick. |

By default, the EDB Manager will generate a standard EDB script that will update the source database so that it matches the target database. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

>> Right you are Tim! For some reason I've been on build 10 of additional tools but build 15 of VCL. Anyway just downloaded the latest build 15 and going to have a play with it now... Very exciting since I have a *massive* DB update to perform and this should be a real time saver Rick. |

I'm just thrilled with this upgrade facility as it means I definitely won't need to buy Change Manager or any another tool, this will suit me just fine. I'll perform some tests but the bottom line is that any "tweaking" will be a very simple matter in DDL. One question: Any idea if renaming a field will be supported in future? Thanks so much Tim for producing a fantastic product. I knew from the beginning the DBISAM was a great choice and now ElevateDB is da bomb. Rick. |

I've still got some improvements to make to it, but it's a good start. << Thanks so much Tim for producing a fantastic product.
