I know EDBManager can retain its state when it exits but is there a hidden option that will allow me to set the explorer state and then just keep on using it?

eg I set it to

Explorer State=Manager;ElevateDB Manager;1;0;1|Session;DEVELOPMENT - TfR;1;0;1|Folder;Databases;0;0;1|Database;NLH;1;1;1

In one usage I could open several other sessions/databases/tables etc but I'd like to be able to close it and then have it re-open to the above. If there isn't a hidden option can I please add to my already impressive list of EDBManager enhancement requests.

No, right now it just ignores the state completely if you turn off the "Save
State" option in the Explorer/Preferences dialog.

I'll add this to the list.
