<< My customer says that pc was freeze during a rebuilding of database, then there are the reason of catalog error. I recovered a backup of data and it is working fine now. I ask, in case of not have a backup are there a way to recover data? >> The data was fine, it was the catalog that was corrupted. However, EDB always makes a backup of the catalog (edbdatabase.edbcat.old) and flushes it to disk prior to updating the catalog file, so there should always be a valid copy of the catalog on disk that you can use. The catalog that you sent me was essentially half-filled with 0x00 bytes, so it looks like the file system blocks were corrupted due to the write of the catalog data being interrupted. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
