Has anyone had luck running EDBSRVR under Windows 98? I am trying to and just get "This program has performed an illegal operation" and wont
start.

Further to this the next error that comes up immediately after you close the illegal operation window is "Exception EInOutError in module
EDBSRVR... Unable to create directory".

I'm looking into this.  I've got to put Windows 98 on a virtual machine,
which is what is taking so long because I can't find a bootable disc for the
OS anywhere.  I've got the MSDN copies of Windows 98/SE/ME, but they're all
on non-bootable DVDs, and I'm having a heck of a time trying to make a
bootable .ISO from them. Frown

If you are stuck, I have a Win 98SE VM (VMWare) but it is 446MB.  I
have not used it for *ages* so I would want to fire it up first.  I
also have a copy of all the files from a W98SE_CD ioncluding its
floppy(!) boot disk.

If the problem is making the bootable CD, Google for Bart's Bootable
CD.  That should lead you to resources to make your own ones from
scratch or obtain ready made ones.

I've got the Windows OS's from MSDN, so that part is covered.  It's making a
bootable CD or ISO image that is killing me.  I used to have original
bootable CDs from Gateway and Dell from way back when, but those left with
the computers when they were donated to various non-profits in town over the
years.

Cool, that's what I needed.  Thanks a lot ! Smiley
