Reverse-Engineer question |

"Sorin H" | Hello
The ElevateDB manager option to reverse-engineer a database has the upgrade option but when I want to select the old database for upgrading the combobox is empty. What are the steps for creating an upgrade script for an old database to a new one using the reverse-engineer option? Thanks Sorin |

<< The ElevateDB manager option to reverse-engineer a database has the upgrade option but when I want to select the old database for upgrading the combobox is empty. What are the steps for creating an upgrade script for an old database to a new one using the reverse-engineer option? >> You need to have at least two databases - one for the old version of the database, and one for the new version of the database. You run the reverse-engineering on the old (or source) database, and specify the new (or target) database as the target database in the reverse-engineering upgrade options. The script that is generated will upgrade the old source version of the database to the new target version of the database. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
