Server Crashes |

Alfred Ghazzi | Hi
Suddenly out of the blue the server started to crash. It keeps running for a while then crashes and vanishes completely. I'm not sure why it suddenly started to crash, but have a feeling it has to do with the jobs. The problem is that it is not always happeniong at the same time. It runs with no problems for some time like 0.5 to 1 hour and then disappers which makes it very difficult to debug. It was not happening before. It is running on Windows XP. I moved it to another freshly installed PC with the data and still happening. I upgraded it with a new build and still happening (happened with 2.02 and 2.03 the latest). I searched in the forum and noticed couple of old messages about server crashing and pointing to the jobs as the culprit. Any help is very much appriciated. Many Thanks and Kind Regards Alfred |

Maybe you have already validated the db - I'm just tossing out a suggestion. Any changes to the servers (windows (or other) updates ...)? -- Aage J. |

Alfred Ghazzi | Hi Aage
Thank you very much for your reply... I'm not really sure. The original PC has been and still is used as a Pseudo Server. The PC is currently accessed by many users and running without any problems. I've run repair on the four databases for couple of times with no errors. The funny thing, it did not crash since yesterday after posting the message I still beleive it has to do with the jobs. So I'm waiting for it to crash and then try it without the jobs and see what it will happen!! Many thanks again for your suggestion... Kind Regards Alfred -- Aage J. |

<< I searched in the forum and noticed couple of old messages about server crashing and pointing to the jobs as the culprit. >> Most likely, yes, although 2.03 should be fine in this respect. Please send me an email with the jobs that you're using and I'll see if I can reproduce the problem here. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
