  Wouldn't EDB can speedup from "inlining" function/procedures ?

  Since inlining takes more binary space you can use compiler
  definition to turn it on/off. (default off)

Not really.  It wouldn't really matter in terms of how EDB deals with
functions and procedures in terms of compilation/execution.
