Marcin Banasik | Hi,
Origin of my question is back in DBISAM when there was no LargeFileSupport switch. I also think that 128GB is by far enough but some of my customers just want to be sure... Thank you for replays Marcin. |

Must have been an old version of DBISAM because I've had large file support enabled in DBISAM for quite a few years. I don't know at what point but I think it came in with V4. I am nosey - what are your customers logging? Roy Lambert [Team Elevate] |

Marcin Banasik | Roy,
<I am nosey - what are your customers logging?> They mostly log syslog and SNMP trap events. Depending on device and configuration some devices can send events about everything (for example that everything was OK for last second). Additionally some customers want/require to keep events for year. Anyway ElevateDB is doing just fine right now. I had to write specialized module to handle that many inserts. I did not use LargeFileSupport in DBISAM just moved to ElevateDB when it was available. Regards Marcin. |
