I need to refresh the data in a calendar automatically when another client adds (or edits) an event.

It looks like the OnUpdateRecord might provide my solution, but I will need information cotained in the object returned.

Or.... are there other (better) ways to approach this?

That's not going to help you with that.  There really isn't any way of
knowing when a row is updated by another user other than to roll your own
TCP/IP notification mechanism.
