Hello

I install the edbsrvr with the file folder set to C:\MyPath and it's run ok.
Using the gui module I stop the server and modify the file folder to
\\IP\c\MyPath pointing to the same location and try to start the server
again but
on the status bar appear the message:
"Error starting server"
Why?

Thanks
Sorin

Sorin,

If you are running the server as a service under the "SYSTEM" ID, it doesn't
have access rights to anything that isn't local to the system that it's
running on.  Since going through a network path isn't local, even if it is
pointing back to the same system, it can't open the files with the proper
access.

If this is the case, you will need to change the ID under which the server
service is running to one that has sufficient access rights.

Thanks Terry

I don't know what mean by "running the server under "system" id.
It's a standard win xp system and I the run the server as service from the
command windows.
I'm connected to the computer as admintrator.

What ID I need to change?

Thanks
Sorin
