Unicode implementation / migration |

David Cornelius Cornelius Concepts | Aaron,
I went through the ANSI-to-Unicode conversion about a year ago. You'll have to export your data from the ANSI database to a CSV file, then import that file into your new Unicode database. There are some considerations about generating a script to create the Unicode database and about the format of the CSV file. I blogged about it here: http://corneliusconcepts.com/mega_update_2. The part you'll be interested in starts on "Step 2." David Cornelius Cornelius Concepts "Aaron Christiansen" wrote in message news:49A4512F-5FE0-49FF-94CF-A7241E0B3364@news.elevatesoft.com... Aaron, <cut> I have 2.03 ANSI installed and installed 2.05 UNICODE over the top. It failed dismally when I started up Delphi again, so I uninstalled UNICODE version. Can you please point me to help in migrating what is now quite a large EDB ANSI project to UNICODE? Thanks Aaron |

Aaron Christiansen | Thanks again, David, you are a legend. The Unicode file converter was very helpful for importing data, and the confirmation of what needs to be done helped settle the nerves.
My side project has been converted and is saving / redisplaying Arabic, so I am one happy camper. I tend to use FieldByName all the time, so conversion was not very difficult at all. Cheers Aaron |

David Cornelius Cornelius Concepts | Excellent! I'm very glad to know that helped.
As for being a legend? Well, let's just say I stumble around a until I find the solution. Then I have to write it down so I won't forget it!!
