Thread ElevateDB Error #1100 after upgrading versions from 2.03 to 2.05

Hi,

I'm using C++ Builder Pro XE and installed the latest EDB 2.05 build 4 but when I run the server / EDB Manager and try to open a database created in 2.03 I get:

ElevateDB Error #1100 A connection to the server at 127.0.0.1 cannot be established (Socket error: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
(10054), on API 'recv')

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Phil.

Philip,

Check your firewall settings. This occurred to me with v2.05 build 3
where my ElevateDB setting changed from "Alow" to "Blocked". I still
don't know why it happened because I didn't change it. In any event,
once I changed it back to "Allow" it worked.

Sorin also had this occur but he had to reboot while I didn't have to
reboot.

HTH...

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the tip, but that isn't it. I removed all rules from firewall and when I ran the EDB manager / Server it prompted me to allow / deny to which I allowed.

I also tried disabling the firewall and still same message.

I wonder as the database was originally created in 2.03 UNICODE and with the C++ Builder XE install there's no ElevateDB server UNICODE option, only ElevateDB server... I just took that as XE only had the UNICODE ElevateDB server but maybe it's missing from the C++ Builder Xe installation?

Maybe I'm totally off, but worth a shot?

Tim,

I get the same error without upgrading. I switch from ANSI to UNI.
Only in LOKAL Mode works ElevateDB Manager correctly. I use ElevateDB Manager in Unicode remote modus.

What I must do do?

Regards

Thomas
