Thread EDB Server licensing

The application I am writing consists of EDB clients connected to an EDB server over an intranet network. When deployed I will have to include the server in the distribution. Except for very small installations, most installations will require more than 5 session connections to the server. Once we have purchased a license that allows more
than five sessions on a server, will we also be able to distribute a server allowing more than 5 sessions to our users?

Thanks

Oliver,

ElevateDB is licensed per developer and you includes royalty free
distribution. The maximum number of concurrent sessions for an
application or ElevateDB server is 4096 sessions. From the
www.elevatesoft.com website regarding licensing:

"ElevateDB is licensed per-developer, and includes royalty-free
distribution. License management isn't required at all, and the money
that you used to pay to the database engine vendor is now your profit
to keep."

Coming from DBISAM for many years, I am finding new functionality and
just plain "awe" in ElevateDB every day I use it. It is a great product!

Hope this answers your question.

I agree with Jan.

The licensing for the server that is in place makes things very easy and flexible.  Not to mention the value added.  When I was researching alternatives to BDE years ago, this was one of the deciding factors to jump to DBISAM.  Since then, I've not looked back and migrated to EDB.  I'll take a peek occasionally at the market and still have yet to find anything else on the market to compare to the value and support that Elevate provides.
