Hershcu Sorin | Hello
After several succefull c/s installation again I faced a 1100 error problem. I install the server as a service on a XP computer and the app. run fine. I try to run the same app from a networked XP and it's raise the 1100 error "socket error. The connection is rejected..." I check the main computer and the directory is shared, the firewall doesn't block the service, the IP and the path is correct. What others thinks should I check? Thanks Sorin I use the last version. |

<< After several succefull c/s installation again I faced a 1100 error problem. >> Is this a new installation on a network that has never had EDB running on it ? In general, if you have issues like this, please send me a direct email so that you don't wait too long for an answer. << I install the server as a service on a XP computer and the app. run fine. I try to run the same app from a networked XP and it's raise the 1100 error "socket error. The connection is rejected..." >> More than likely the issue is firewall-related, or something similar is blocking access. If you want, I can remotely log in and check out the server machine to make sure that everything is configured properly. Just send me an email if you want to do this, and if it is possible to do so. << I check the main computer and the directory is shared, the firewall doesn't block the service, the IP and the path is correct. What others thinks should I check? >> You shouldn't need to share any directories at all. In fact, I wouldn't recommend it because you're giving other users direct access to the database(s), which is not what you want. Along those lines, what do you mean by "the path is correct" ? You shouldn't be using any path names with C/S access and the EDB Server. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Hello Tim I remove all and run the server as a application and now it's work I don't change anything and I have no idea what happened but now, when it's work, I'll add the server to the startup and leave it like this. By the "the path is correct" I mean that the unc target to the application on both computer is correct. Thanks for the support Sorin |

<< I remove all and run the server as a application and now it's work I don't change anything and I have no idea what happened but now, when it's work, I'll add the server to the startup and leave it like this. >> This indicates that the firewall settings/exceptions are still not correct. An easy way to test this is to simply disable the firewall completely and see if that fixes the problem. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
