Converting DBISAM scripts |

Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | I've done some work for Adam, and John Hay's just extended it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could come up with a full DBISAM script -> ElevateDB script converter.
Anyone interested in joining in the fun, or submitting a DBISAM script for conversion sign up below. Roy Lambert |

That will at least give you an idea of the coverage. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Its in the binaries. There's a massive amount missing / still to do. I'm willing to put in some effort but not be the sole individual doing it. Roy Lambert |

Adam Brett Orixa Systems | Hi Roy,
I have about 10 clients on DBISAM who I am trying to switch to Elevate. A big barrier is the fact that there are lots of self-written SQL scripts written by the clients to run reports. Also, each application can consist of 100's of views etc. These are mostly select statements. However they regularly use MEMORY tables in the form: SELECT XYZ INTO MEMORY\123 FROM ABC ; SELECT EFG, XYZ FROM DEF LEFT JOIN MEMORY\123 ... I have had a look at your code in the Binaries & it is useful. My need is for a script convertor for "SELECT" statements ... I don't tend to create tables on the fly in DBISAM. So I _think_ I might move your code on a bit myself for my own use, but I would obviously post any update back to the Binaries. However: I am deep in a DBISAM project update right now & will be working on that for 2 - 3 weeks ... so nothing will happen instantly. Tim's note that he would provide a bit of guidance would be really helpful. ( |
