ElevateDB as database backend.

Hi Thomas,

there will be an ADO.NET flavour of ElevateDB in the near(?) future.

As soon as the ADO.NET data provider is available, you will be able to.
Hopefully we will have something before the beginning of summer.

Hi,

Maybe we should move our database engine to COM object and then use COM object in ASP.NET(VS).
But it is not clear how to exchange data(records) between COM object and application, maybe XML?

I want to know your opinion though it is not directly related to ElevateDB.

Tomas

You could do so, but it would require defining an interface for the COM
objects, which might be time-consuming enough that it would be easier to
just wait for the native .NET support.

The engine conversion is done, I'm finishing up the final touches on the
TEDBTable, etc. components in the edbcomps unit.  I'm hoping to have it done
for the next 1.03 release.   1.02 B2 has become 1.03 due to some internal
changes to move triggers into view also in the catalog.  We're planning on
introducing triggers on views in a future minor release so that static views
can be updated.
