I have an amazon cloud server (excellent) ... I use Windows Remote Desktop to access it when I need to actually log-on to work "on" it rather than just accessing it via EDBMgr.

I find Windows Remote Desktop really flaky & slow. Quite often (maybe 1 time in 4 or 5) it won't even connect to the server at all (!) I know the server is actually fine as it delivers websites for me & I can easily connect to it using EDBMgr, so the problem is WRD.

Can anyone recommend a better product for remote connection?

I know that Context Software has one, and so does Nexus, but I haven't used
either one, unfortunately.

Nexus seems to have an issue with their HTML, though, and it's hard to read
the product page for SupportMe!.

Hi Adam,

Hooking into Tim's suggestion about RemAssist...
We have used this product for several years without any problems. there are a few key points for us, the nice license model, fairly priced product (read: cheap) and there is delphi source code available. But!... since a couple of months we replaced the RemAssist tool by TeamViewer, the main reason here fore was... Speed and Stability under OS > XP. RemAssist is poorly supporting UAC (Windows User Account Control), some dialogs on the client machine you will never see in the RemAssist tool, you need somebody on the other side to push some OK buttons on the dialogs if you don't see them. (although a good job of MicroSoft) and... it's ridiculously SLOW when the client machine is Vista, Win7, Win2008 and Win2011, this is caused imho by lack of support for (Aero) Theming.

My 2 Cents.

Thanks to both. I will look at Nexus. I am still surprised that the Windows Remote Desktop is poor ... it should be core to the OS so really ought to do a better job!
