Hi All,

How can I increase this? And why does the message appear on the 5th
person logging in as oppose to the 8th?

Thanks,

Phil.

It's controlled by the engine licensedsessions property so you can increase it there.

As to the missing 2 sessions i believe they are used up internally for logging and jobs in the ElevateDB Server so you get 2 less for remote clients that the  licensedsessions count.

Phil,

As far as i know there are only 2 ways connections can be limited
1. set TEDBEngine.LicensedSessions
2. trial version of EDB enforces low connection limits

So I would just double check everything to make sure nowhere is the
LicensedSessions set to less then 4096 and that nothing is compiled with
trial version of edb.

Outside of that i'm out of suggestions.

Hi Raul,

Yes no where in the code does it change the LicensedSessions (also my
server app is one I have created as oppose to the Elevate DB Server.

The Engine component allow me to change the LicensedSessions in the IDE
at design time, its already set to 4096 and doesn't revert to 2 like the
Trial Version does.

Also I don't think I've ever installed the trial version on this PC and
being the LicensedSessions is already showing as 4096 I can't see why
there would be a problem.

Cheers,

Phil.

Phil,

Just to clarify. You purchased the EDB Client/Server version ($559) and not the EDB Standard ($279) that comes with a "special 5-session version of the ElevateDB Server for small installations and testing purposes"?

Hi Barry,

Hmm, good question, never even realized it... I paid $368.10 AU for the
ElevateDB VCL Standard with Source Code back in 2008 and have just
renewed each year.

SO I guess that's the reason? Wonder what an upgrade is worth, will have
to check it out.

Cheers,

PHil.
