Adam Brett Orixa Systems | BUT: The UPDATES table can only be used on the computer where UPDATES have been saved.
If I copy an update file to a new machine it will not be able to identify it as an UPDATE from its own UPDATES table, at this point I have to use the "Configuration.Files" mechanism, is that right? |

<< BUT: The UPDATES table can only be used on the computer where UPDATES have been saved. >> Yes, and no. As long as the update files are stored in a *defined store* directory somewhere, then EDB can enumerate them. Remember, stores can be defined as both local and remote. You use the SET UPDATES STORE statement to specify which store the Updates table will use for enumerating the update files: http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=viewtopic&id=edb2sql&topic=SET_UPDATES_STORE << If I copy an update file to a new machine it will not be able to identify it as an UPDATE from its own UPDATES table, at this point I have to use the "Configuration.Files" mechanism, is that right? >> As long as you copy the update file into a directory that is used by a defined store, or you define a store dynamically for the directory, then EDB will be able to enumerate it as part of the Updates table.
