Peter Evans | Subject : Suggestion - ElevateDB Manager Unicode - treeview
(Running in a Windows 8 virtual machine) When the focus shifts from the treeview to a pane, such as the Tasks pane. Currently the item that was highlighted changes color from black to near white. It is then not possible to read the name of the database say. This obfuscation is very annoying. Regards, Peter Evans |

Barry | I have already mentioned this to Tim. See the thread "A couple of minor EDBMgr suggestions"
Here are Tim's replies: >This is standard behavior for the TTreeView/Windows - I'm not modifying this to make it behave that way, and the behavior is related to the focus state of the node.< ------ next reply ---- >The issue is that the theming can cause the colors to be different depending upon how Windows is skinned. I'm not sure if I would be shooting someone else in the foot by fixing the colors to a specific set of colors.< Barry |

>> I have already mentioned ... Thank you for pointing out your initial mention of this problem. I have now found it by searching the newsgroups. However, I disagree with Tim's reply. The reason is this - already there are options in the Manager to change colours of some areas of that program. I think it would be a simple matter to add another option. I repeat the word option. I also believe as you seem to, that useability of the Manager is very important. Regards, Peter Evans |

You can always swith to "Window Classic" and it looks fine. -- Michael Riley GySgt USMC (Ret) www.zilchworks.com |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Barry,
<< I have already mentioned this to Tim. See the thread "A couple of minor EDBMgr suggestions" Here are Tim's replies: >> I went ahead and looked at this again, and I think I can force it to black in the custom draw handler. The problem has something to do with focus shifting away from the treeview during a click/selection, so that's about as good as I can make it. I still have to test this with the later XE+ builds, though, to make sure that I'm not breaking anything. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
