Michael,

These Tango icons are stored as .SVG files. I have several programs that claim they can open SVG files (none from Adobe) and they all fail at loading any of the files.

Do you have any (free?) recommendations for viewing/editing these files?

TIA

Barry,

I purchased Paint Shop Pro several years ago and just use that program.
I've never had to look for a program.

I only use (lots of) commercial graphics software so I'm not sure about free ones, but you could try Inkscape: http://inkscape.org/.  I've never tried it myself but I understand it supports SVG, and it's free,

Thanks, Inkscape works great.

Roy, if you want to download all of the Tango icons, here is the link:

http://tango.freedesktop.org/releases/tango-icon-theme-0.8.90.tar.gz

You will need either 7Zip or IzArc to uncompress the files to a directory. The archive has PNG as well as SVG files.
