Thread Migrate from v4 to EDB with Signature
Tue, May 1 2007 2:10 PMPermanent Link

"B Miller"
I'm just starting to work with EDB and I thought I'd try migrating a
database that I already have.  The EDB Manager won't upgrade my tables
because I have a signature on them other than the default.  Is there a way
to do this? Do I need to put my signature in the EDB Manager and recompile?

Thanks,
B Miller

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but Tim wrote this in the
dbisam.general newsgroup

" Thanks.  This next EDB release should put things in a very stable state
and serve as a good launching point for the next round of improvements.
The migration facilities in the upcoming 1.03 release have been vastly
improved, with new BDE migrator support as well as migrator plugin support
for any other external data sources."

The improved migration ability in 1.03 may help.

Yes, you will need to do so in order to migrate a database using a custom
signature.

Yes, it will.  In the new configuration, he'll only need to recompile the
migrator module for DBISAM 4.x with the new signature.

I have the same problem, so I found this thread.
But how can I recompile this DLL? Where is the D2007 project?

You can find the source code here:

<InstallDir>\libs\edbmigratedbisam4\source

Tim,

You can find the source code here:

<InstallDir>\libs\edbmigratedbisam4\source

Sorry, I thought so, but there is NO source code!
I only found the edbmigrate.pas in <Installdir>\VCL\Standard\Version 1\Delphi 2007\code,
but I don't know what to do with that.

Please help

Sorry about that - I forgot that the migrators are in the Additional
Software and Utilities download only.  You will find them in the
installation directory for that download.

Please tell me, where exactly?
There is C:\Programme\ElevateDB\Additional\Version 1\libs\edbmigratedbisam4\source
which had been apparently installed by the additional software. But there is no source.

Still hoping for precise help

Per your last email message - did you find the files under the new
installation folder for 1.04 B4 ?
