Web Server Being Moved |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | You should have received an email to this effect already, but this is just
to let everyone know that we're going to be moving the web server to a new data center starting this evening, and the DNS changes are going to take some time to propogate (we have to change our name servers), so there may be an extended period of time during which you cannot access the web site/newsgroups or send us email. Everything should be okay by Tuesday, hopefully. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | And we're back. The DNS propagated a lot faster than I expected, and things
are running smoothly. Everyone should see a marked improvement in the download speeds. If you see anything weird, please let me know. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Barry | Tim,
If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to write www.elevatesoft.com? Your web-based forums are fast and very reliable. When I start to enter a reply to someone and get interrupted so I have to come back later to post it, it never times out like some other websites. So kudos on developing a rock solid site. Barry |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Barry,
<< If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to write www.elevatesoft.com? >> It's a custom web server with a bunch of code that spits out HTML (Delphi). It's highly-templated, though, so the amount of code required is minimal. However, most of it is going on the scrap heap next year when I port it to EWB. << Your web-based forums are fast and very reliable. When I start to enter a reply to someone and get interrupted so I have to come back later to post it, it never times out like some other websites. >> A lot of sites put in timeouts for sessions. Why, I have no idea: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2008/04/your-session-has-timed-out.html I just had to deal with it with the Network Solutions site when I was using their DNS manager to move our DNS from our T1 provider. << So kudos on developing a rock solid site. >> Thanks, Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
