I can not open the database. I bought the all version of DBISAM and ElevateDB. I don't know which version used to create the database.

Yavuz,

Roy's SQL statement gets the version information from the configuration file, you don't have to open the database to execute it.Do you see any error messages?
How are you trying to open the database and what EDB version are you using?
If it is 2.15 or 2.16 it might be because of a Character Set mismatch (ANSI/UNICODE).

This is entirely different. What you seem to be saying is that you don't even know wether the database was created in DBISAM or ElevateDB. Firstly DBISAM does not use catalog or config files, secondly the file extensions are.dat, .idx, .blb for DBISAM and .EDBTbl, EDBIdx, EDBBlb for ElevateDB.

What you need to do as a starter is download the additional utilities, for ElevateDB that will give you a utility (EDBManager) which can be used to open the database after you have set up appropriate session and database information. Unless the database you have is an old one you don't need the version number to open it.

The manual has a decent section for getting started and is well worth reading.

If you have a specific problem please tell us what it is and we might be able to help.
