Hi ElevateDB developers,

I'm looking at a ElevateDB to refactor a D7/DBF application and wondering what reporting tool is recommended  with ElevateDB.

I'm currently looking at FastReport.
How should you use FastReport with ElevateDB ?
Do you need any extra components ?
How well the two fit together ?

Or, is there a better choice ?

I can't say anything about FastReport - but I want to recommend
ReportBuilder.
Have been working with RB for many years, works great.

RB uses Data Pipelines which are just connected with any TDataSource
component. The report are linked to the Data Pipeline. Very easy.

I have been using FastReports since version 3 with both DBISAM and ElevateDB and it works very well.

I can agree with Fernando. You don't need extra components, EDB will work "out of the box" with Fast Report, I think you need to include the "Dataset" library of FR but nothing else (sorry it is a long time since I did it!).

FR is a brilliant product. I am sure Report Builder is also good, but if you already know FR I would suggest sticking with it.

I've used Fast Reports with EDB too and it works well.  I haven't tried what Fernando mentioned.  I had an EDB FR component.  But will have to try what he mentioned.
