Michael Riley ZilchWorks | I'm running XE4 Professional. I just installed EDB 2.17 32Bit and 64Bit. When I launch Delphi I get the following error message: ---------------------------------------------------- Can't load package C:\Program Files(x86)\ElevateDB 2 VCL-STD\RAD Studio XE4 (Delphi Win32)\code\edbdesign217rsdelphiwin32xe4.bpl. Cannot load package 'edbrun217rsdelphiwin32xe4.' It contains unit 'edbmigratemodule', which is also contained in package 'edbrun213rsdelphiwin32unixe4'. Do you want to attampt to load this package the next time a project is loaded? ---------------------------------------------------- How do I resolve this issue? -- Michael Riley GySgt USMC (Ret) www.zilchworks.com |

What that says to me is that you have 2.13 still around somewhere. You need to uninstall ElevateDB, delete the install directory, search for and delete any instances of elevate bpls (I generally search for e*.bpl and eyeball the results) then reinstall ElevateDB Bit of a grind but it generally works Roy Lambert |

Installation 1 Make sure that all copies of RAD Studio XE4 are currently closed and not running on the target system. If you are replacing an existing version of ElevateDB, the new setup application will automatically uninstall any prior version of ElevateDB before installing the new version. Information The RAD Studio XE4 version requires that the MS Help 2 runtime is installed first before installing ElevateDB if you wish to integrate the ElevateDB help into the RAD Studio XE4 IDE. If you installed the online help for RAD Studio XE4, then the MS Help 2 runtime was installed at that time and no further action is necessary. 2 Run the setup application that you downloaded from the web site. ------------------------------------------------- Then *If* *this* *sentence* *is* *true* ... "If you are replacing an existing version of ElevateDB, the new setup application will automatically uninstall any prior version of ElevateDB before installing the new version." .... there would be no need to to a brute force uninstall like you are talking about. -- Michael Riley GySgt USMC (Ret) www.zilchworks.com |

Michael Riley ZilchWorks | Roy,
I'm Good to go... 1. I unistalled everything using the uninstall.exe that comes with ElevateDB. 2. Re-Installed 2.17 3. Ran the edbfixunicode utility 4. Launched Delphi XE4 5. Mannually enabled EDB design time components -- Michael Riley GySgt USMC (Ret) www.zilchworks.com |

As you have just found sometimes the best intentions (Tim's) do not work out when Microsoft gets involved <vbg> Roy Lambert |
