Trinione | Hi:
I am using Delphi 2007 on a Windows 8.1 (64-bit) machine. After installing 217b1edbvcltrialrsdelphi2007, no EDB components are availiable. What do I need to do to fix this? |

Trinione | Upon checking I found that the ElevateDB Design-Time Package' was not selected (checked).
Got an error. Closed rechecked. Restarted Delphi 2007. Components are there now. Strange that I had to do this manually and I received an error. Now about to test to ensure it works. |

Trinione | I was still experiencing problems....
My solution: Uninstall 2.17. Thereupon I noted that 2.13 still existed and was not deleted in the installation process for 2.17. Found all directories I could find related to EWB and renamed them. Reinstalled 2.17. Components showing again! PS: Remember to change 'CharacterSet' value in the TEDBEngine and TEDBSession objects. For example to 'csUnicode' in both. |

As a general practice i always suggest to uninstall any old versions - especially if you came from pre-unified version (i.e. one that had separate unicode and ansi installs). > Found all directories I could find related to EWB and renamed them. EWB should not affect your EDB - unless you meant EDB folders. > Components showing again! > PS: > Remember to change 'CharacterSet' value in the TEDBEngine and TEDBSession objects. For example to 'csUnicode' in both. I suggest you review the releases notes as there have been some other changes also between 2.13 and 2.17. Final note i'm sure you're aware of but trial has run-time packages only : http://www.elevatesoft.com/supportfaq?action=view&category=edb&question=edb_vcl_trial_versions Raul |

Yes, I meant EDB. Can't edit the post though.
