Peter | Thanks everyone, I will follow the sound advice and go with the centrally stored exe. I already do the renaming thing, where I save the old file to a special folder, and rename it accordingly. The source code will assist though, I am sure.

Dale Derix | We have been successfully using the shortcut method for years, however our latest app is client-server and designed to allow the user to connect remotely over the internet (not shortcut friendly).
I've been toying with the idea of perhaps putting the workstation exe in a file store which could be checked at startup and copied over to the workstation if an update is necessary. I haven't actually tried this yet, just thinking about it. Dale |
