tableprivileges loosing rows until reboot |

Anthony | I had a problem with a server this morning, which prevented users from logging in with object not found error 401 also shown in the logs. On investigation I noticed that the tableprivileges wasn't showing the usual permissions of 40+ rows but only 4 rows including tables, view and grantedto the public role. On reboot all the permissions were restored, until something caused it to fault again and again back to the 4 rows listed in the tableprivileges. I didn't make note the 4 rows but they were more like system tables, maybe tables, views, functions and procedures or something similar.
The permissions corrected themselves on a reboot but the problem reoccurred several times. I'm using users assigned to roles and the roles granted permissions on the tables and views. I have removed everyone from the public role. Has anyone else come across anything similar, as I would greatly like to get to the bottom of the problem so it doesn't reoccur, the database has been stable for months, but I did make privilege changes prior to this occurring. Using the edb manager and viewing the privileges in the gui also showed the loss of privileges. Could it be corruption in the database catalog? and how would I check? Any comments would be most appreciated. |
