Upgrading from ElevateDB 2.08 to the current Version |

Aggi Scherer | I am currently using ElevateDB 2.08 Client-Server with Delphi 7 and want
to upgrade to 2.18 1. Can I use the 2.18 Components with the 2.08 database server, or do I need to upgrade the database server as soon I update the current customer-software with a version which I compiled with the new 2.18 components? 2. which steps do I need to take in order to update the database server at a client? Is it just replacing the edbsrvr.exe or do I need "upgrade" the databases and the tables involved? Thanks Peter |

Having a quick look at the release notes there are a number of breaking changes between 2.08 and now. Its possible that none will affect you but I personally wouldn't take the chance. Skimming I think that simply installing the latest (with the exception of the 2.15 unicode fix) will be all you need to do. >2. which steps do I need to take in order to update the database server >at a client? Aggi Scherer | Roy,
thank you for the quick reply! And thank you for reminding me of the release notes. Could have thought of reading the release notes myself! Peter |
