<< When we have an app crash, it will lock out 80% of connection attempts
from that point on until you restart the server.  The exception raised is:

Exception class EEDBException with message 'ElevateDB Error #300 Cannot
lock the database XYZ for shared access'.

This is very easy to replicate by terminating the debugger while stepping
through your app and then trying to start it up again immediately. >>

support forum.

As to the error:

What version of ElevateDB are you using ?  Does the problem occur when you
use the EDB Manager to make a connection, and then kill the EDB Manager
process ?

The only way that you could see that type of locking error is if the
ElevateDB Server has a particular database open *exclusively*.  And that
only happens during a database alter, rename, drop, or restore.

Are you sure that you don't have any local sessions trying to access the
same database as the ElevateDB Server, but using different configuration
files ?  That is usually what causes this type of problem:

You know I do.   Wink   I have just not had the time to verify anything to
the point where I can reproduce it.

Have you reported this to Tim, and has he been able to reproduce it?
