Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | << When we have an app crash, it will lock out 80% of connection attempts from that point on until you restart the server. The exception raised is: Exception class EEDBException with message 'ElevateDB Error #300 Cannot lock the database XYZ for shared access'. This is very easy to replicate by terminating the debugger while stepping through your app and then trying to start it up again immediately. >> In the future, please contact us for direct support via email for issues like this. This really isn't something that can be handled on a peer support forum. As to the error: What version of ElevateDB are you using ? Does the problem occur when you use the EDB Manager to make a connection, and then kill the EDB Manager process ? The only way that you could see that type of locking error is if the ElevateDB Server has a particular database open *exclusively*. And that only happens during a database alter, rename, drop, or restore. Are you sure that you don't have any local sessions trying to access the same database as the ElevateDB Server, but using different configuration files ? That is usually what causes this type of problem: http://www.elevatesoft.com/supportfaq?action=view&category=edb&question=cannot_lock_database Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Terry Swiers | Hi Tim,

I have just not had the time to verify anything to the point where I can reproduce it. --------------------------------------- Terry Swiers Millennium Software, Inc. http://www.1000years.com http://www.atrex.com --------------------------------------- |
