Thread Index Statistics: Results of the Discussion
Wed, Oct 4 2006 10:38 AMPermanent Link

"Johnnie Norsworthy"
Is the index statistics discussion still underway or has a decision been
made? Will there be an online poll, and I assume a notice sent to all
customers? If so, please include a list of pros and cons for each
possibility.

Right now with the Borland/DevCo limbo I'd love to see the beta of
ElevateDB. The Delphi community needs something new and exciting.

Johnnie,

<< Is the index statistics discussion still underway or has a decision been
made? >>

No, but I'm getting close to making a decision and I'm strongly leaning
towards removing them.

<< Will there be an online poll, and I assume a notice sent to all
customers? >>

No, and no.  This is a new product, so the features list will be included as
part of the product launch.

<< If so, please include a list of pros and cons for each possibility. >>

If you read through the thread I started, you will get the basic information
on the situation along with the primary pros and cons.

Well, I need to be done with EDB also, so it works out good for all of us.

Sir, I highly doubt you'll be "done" with EDB any time soon. <vbg>

Thanks for the information. My programs will be made to work with whatever
you decide to do with the indexes.

This is certainly true, however I still want to be done with the initial
version. Smiley

Ok I bought a new washing machine and it jumps all around when on spin
is that exciting enough. Howabout my new printer the ink didnt flow so my
silly husband blew down the nozzle and got covered in ink that was exciting.

Years ago I had the same problem with a washing machine (we forgot to take the transit bars of that lock the drum's springs) my wife threw herself at it and tried to hold it down. In between gales of laughter I pressed the off button.
