Hello everyone.
Some time ago I have this problem.
I Install Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Delphi XE3, ElevateDb current version.
The ElevateDB server for Win64, I install it as a service Ok.
The problem appears when I turn on the PC, the service ElevateDB
it has active status, but when I try to access it,  indicates a  Error # 1100.
Since the utility of Windows Services, restart the service and
from that moment I can connect to the server EDB without problem.
Until I turn off the PC, it works OK.
Question: why the service does not start when I turn on my PC?
(Although it appears as initiated but it rejects the connection).
I checked firewall, antivirus, etc. Even with these programs off, the problem
keep going.
I searched the forum but not found a similar thread.
Thanks in advance.-

This is a wild guess but it could be that you're trying to start the server to early when the network connections haven't initialised. I had a similar problem ages ago, but nothing to do with ElevateDB.

Have a look at

I was thinking that it might be some dependencies. Modern Windows has a
"delay start" option for services, and that's what I'd start with.
Otherwise I think you have to program the dependencies in the service
installation, which is not so easy with someone else's service.

Alvaro,

You need to check the actual logged events for the EDB Server to see if there are any issues with starting the server, and if so, what they are.

You can do this from a remote session in the EDB Manager by opening the session, and then selecting View Logged Events in the tasks menu for the session (right-click).

Thanks for your quick response. About suggestions Roy and Matthew, have something in common: it may be that the motherboard Intel (I3 microprocessor) delay in assigning the IP to Windows. The IP is assigned by the router with DHCP server.
I'll try to put the static IP.
I have another PC with ASUS motherboard with Win7 64bit, and the server service ElevateDB works Ok, it has also with dynamic IP assigned by the router.
The DHCP server reserves the IP associated with the MAC of each network card.

I will try the program suggests Roy.
And I missed something: I will review the logged events as Tim suggested.
After these tests I inform you that happened.
Thanks for the help.

Tim:
Check the option View Logged Events.
Report Error # 505.
I also tried the following:
Ip Fixed: error # 505.
Start Service Delayed: ( Menu item Windows Services.) : error # 505.
Takes nearly 2 minutes, then started appearing with status initiated but still gives the
Error # 505.
I repeat: the service says Initiate. But I can not connect to server ElevateDB.

Only restarting the service manually, stop the error appears.

I have to analyze the program that Roy suggested.

Question: When ElevateDB server is started, it is essential that the connection to
Internet is available ??

Thank you.

Alvaro,

<< Report Error # 505. >>

Yes, but what is the *actual error message* ?

<< Question: When ElevateDB server is started, it is essential that the connection to Internet is available ?? >>

No, but the networking services must all be running if you want it to successfully bind to an IP address.

Tim:
I was adjusting to the delayed start of services. And ensuring that the network services were active before ElevateDB server starts.
Leaving the configuration as it was originally, except these "tweaks" ElevateDB server starts well.
It takes to start about 30 seconds after the Windows operating. Set this mode works OK.
Thanks to all the "team" who gave me support.
