Hershcu Sorin | Hello
Does anyone experience using a Delphi application with EDB database on Dropbox? I try it. I move one of my application and I succeed doing some updates but it's very unstable. Does anybody know if it's suppose to work and does it require specials settings? Thanks Sorin |

What are you expecting to happen? It strikes me as something that would never work well if your intention is to share it among computers for actual access. For backing up, perhaps, but there are much better ways. Any database code will depend on operating system locks on the files. Dropbox will not be respecting that and will send updates to another computer in any order. You would be bound to end up with conflicts and lost data. If you want to use it for backups, set the dropbox folder as the location for backups, and get EDB to do a backup to it. -- Matthew Jones |

<< Does anyone experience using a Delphi application with EDB database on Dropbox? >> You shouldn't try to access an ElevateDB database (or any database, for that matter) on Dropbox. It's not designed to work that way, and you're just going to end up corrupting/losing the data, eventually. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Hershcu Sorin | Thanks for the information
I was surprise when one of my clients complain about problems on one of my programs and I discover that he was working from Dropbox. He work like this for some time and he said that the programs work quite well from 2 laptops and that's why I decided to inquire about that. Ok I'll move him back to one computer. It's a pity it doesn't work. It could be quite useful. Thanks Sorin "Tim Young [Elevate Software]" wrote in message news:3A1C87B7-603A-4552-92E5-5043F6A776C6@news.elevatesoft.com...
