Gregory T Swain Zucchetti North America LLC | edbmgr 2.24 Build 1 does not show a progress bar on backup/restore when running on Windows 10.
Maybe other lengthy operations. Some restores I run take more than 5 minutes, so not knowing if it's wedged is a PITA. Actually posted by JWT Meakin using the BayLakesIS login. |

<< edbmgr 2.24 Build 1 does not show a progress bar on backup/restore when running on Windows 10. >> I'm looking into this. We're simply using the TProgressBar control that comes with Delphi, so unless there's a bug in the version of Delphi that we're using, then it might have to wait until we can report it to Embarcadero. The one hope is that we're compiling the EDB utilities with D2009 (we purposefully lag the version used to prevent bleeding edge issues with the utilities), and I'm going to test with newer versions to see if the problem was resolved already. One thing that is certain is that the EDB Manager compiled with D7 *does* show a progress bar on W10. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Adam Brett Orixa Systems | I can plus one this issue:
I don't see the Progress bar working in EDB Manager under Win 10. Actually it doesn't work for any process (slow procedures, functions, queries ...) as far as I can see. It is hardly a huge issue ... but it would be nice to fix. |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | JWT,
It's now fixed, and the fix will be in the next upcoming build. The issue was with our code removing the edge on the progress bar via the SetWindowLong Windows API call. For some reason, on Windows 10 that causes the progress bar to not work. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
