Thread Update from v2.18 to latest version

Currently for customer project I am using version 2.18 (for local and remote sessions, Delphi applications).

What would be the steps in order to update the ElevateDB version?

1. review the release notes for breaking changes
2. modify your software to take account of those changes
2a. if necessary upgrade the database
3. test
4. test
5. switch off your customers and if 2a is necessary do at customer sites
6. install new software client & server
7. test

Job done

Once you've got things running you can start looking at any enhancements

Are you asking about pricing/cost, or the process ?

Less thorough that Roy but I can't remember anything too awful between 2.18 and present release in terms of breaking changes.

This link is quite a good place to work backwards and see all the sequential changes:

http://www.elevatesoft.com/blog?tag=ElevateDB

As each version release is tagged through to a list of all changes, and the most major issues are documented.

Full release notes are included with install and also available on
download page (scroll past download links) that list both new and
breaking changes for each release.
