Thread settings and signature questions

If I understand it correctly, when changing extensions, catalog and
configname in my app(s) then I'm pretty sure that other apps cannot access
it's data? Correct?

Then I can also change the settings in EDBmngr so I can manage it from that
EDBmngr. This to exclude users from messing things up -if they should have a
EDBmngr (with standard settings). Correct?

I can also change the engines signature in the app. Would that provide even
more 'security'?
If so, how do I let EDBmngr know that 'new' signature (cannot find an
edit-entry for that)?

Regards, Harry

Unless they match them Smileyalso tables could still be opened in a tool like Notepad.

The EDBmngr code or the EDB code (the last one we don't own -standard
version w/o code) ?

Tim,
Can you create an edit entry in ebmngr -like the other settings- for this?
Or are their reasons for not wanting this?

Harry,

Correct.

Correct.

Sure, but you've basically already changed everything that needs changing to
prevent conflicts.

<< If so, how do I let EDBmngr know that 'new' signature (cannot find an

You have to modify and re-compile the EDB Manager to do so.

Harry,

The reason that I don't have an .INI entry for this is because it would be
sitting there in plain text.
