Ian Branch | Hi Team,
Tried to run EDBMgr on the Customer's server while he was in one of the Apps. Win Server 2008 R2. Got the following error message.. "ElevateDB Error #300 Cannot lock the databse DBiWorkflow for shared access" Umm, why would it need to lock it for shared access? I don't see this on my Dev PC. A network sharing issue? If so what needs to be adjusted? I never saw this type of issue with ADS. Regards & TIA, Ian |

My guess is that the two are pointing at different .cfg files. The two may be an exact match but it needs to be the same file. Roy Lambert |

If any part of your app ALTERs the DB, I know this locks out other connections, so that might be it. It is fine to CREATE temporary tables, views etc., as far as I know, but I am not sure of the exact details of what you can call in terms of ALTER statements before the DB puts in a full lock. Roy is probably right. Check all the config paths, and search for .cfg files. |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Ian,
If you're doing this locally, then Roy is most likely correct: https://www.elevatesoft.com/supportfaq?action=view&category=edb&question=cannot_lock_database Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
