It may just be me (again) but when closing one project (lets call it A) using alt-f-l and opening another project (B) I'm getting a read warning relating to ConfigPath or CacheModules. I have to open a table in A for this to happen. I think its only started happening (or at least I've only started noticing it) since I moved to D2007.

I haven't yet figured out why I get which error error - ConfigPath or CacheModules

I have tried stripping out my subclassed EDB components and replacing with the "real" thing but no difference.

If you have explicit TEDBEngine components on forms/data modules, then you can encounter issues with the RAD Studio IDE because of the singleton nature of the underlying TEDBEngine instance (all TEDBEngine instances at design-time use the same core TEDBEngine instance.

So, sometimes you may need to close/restart the IDE in order to avoid issues with design-time TEDBEngine instances.  Either that, or just set the TEDBEngine properties at run-time using the global Engine instance variable.
