It's been less then 24 hours since Rio was released live. Is there plans to release an update to support the new IDE on Thanksgiving?  Wink
As always, figured I would be THAT guy who asks first.  Lol.

Anyways - any ETA?

I am so sorry about my opinion but this is an absurd.

Most of us (developers) need new features in ElevateDB/DBISAM and the support for up comming version of Delphi is not so important mainly because there were just 24 hours that is was delivered.

We are waiting DBISAM 4.46, ElevateDB 2.29 with improvements in INNER JOIN and other new resources/fixes and Delphi support is not the first one.

Regards.

I don't feel as strongly as you, Jose.

I don't need Rio support for EDB urgently as I can continue to release
updates on the Windows platforms in the meantime.  However, I do need a
particular 3rd party, Rio update for Android as I am unable to release
any updates on Google Play until I get it.

So, it all depends.  Smile

First off - I usually always post a similar message for when a new IDE is released. Mainly just to poke a little fun at Tim, having little expectation he is ready on day 1.  I also know that he will probably get many others asking the same question, so I try and get this in and hopefully Tim had replied saying "still haven't got my IDE, but probably a week or two weeks after I get it up and running".  So it can allow us all to have an idea.

I use a LOT of 3rd party components. Some are ready at the launch. Some are quick after.  And some struggle along.

It's just a running joke - Lance isn't being entirely serious. Smile

Guys

Sorry to be so rude with my opinion.

Now I realize it was a joking but I understand all of your point of view.

All of us who have worked with Elevate for many years are used to the joke, on each Delphi update. Don't stop doing it!

Only a very few of us are on latest version of Delphi anyway (I am on XE8!) ... and following the notice-boards about all the issues with 10.3 I would _never_ install until at least a few weeks after Tim has added support for 10.3 in any case.

I have a business to run. I can't afford to stop working while EMB sort out all the problems with a new release if I install it when it is released.

How dare you! You should know enough by now to understand that a poor impoverished corporation can't afford to employ beta testers. Anyway, if they slowed down enough to squash all the bugs they wouldn't be able to sell you the new buggy features.

Won't someone think about the poor executives and their bonus?

Roy,

With the new Embarcadero business plan the bugs are already sold Smiley
I can delay the update but I have to pay for it in advance.
And yet, I do like the new plan - in the long term it's not that expensive.
