Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Yusuf,
<< I think we need a functionality in ElevateDB where the server sends back the locking users details to the client, where we can show it somehow. This should be a basic functionality of DB-Servers ... hit me if i'm wrong! >> EDB allows multiple *servers* to share the same database(s), as well as servers to share the same databases with other applications. So, there are situations where it cannot know which *process* has a row locked, and so it doesn't provide this information. I'm slowly moving EDB away from this model with the global file I/O buffering and exclusive access to the underlying databases, so I will see what I can do about providing this information when the global file I/O buffering is enabled. In such a case, EDB *can* determine who has what locked, although I'll have to see what's involved with such a change. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
