Polywick Studio | I need some clarifications.
If my users use network sharing, will they be able to use 'network share' ? (network share = windows network share.) if a second user uses the same elevatedb files, do they have to do something, or do they need to start the EDBServer? I'm coming from a dbisam background... |

>If my users use network sharing, will they be able to use 'network share' ? >(network share = windows network share.) Not sure just what you mean here. The right way to approach it is to use UNC paths for all the locations >if a second user uses the same elevatedb files, do they have to do something, or do they need to start the EDBServer? You can simply allow as many users as you want to use the database at the same time. The only restriction is they must all use the same config file to access the data at the same time. However, as Ian Branch has just found out its better to use the server, and its easy to set up to use either way. Roy |

So it's either local path or unc path or mapped drive and can be used by single or multiple users - however performance is a problem (in both DBISAM and EDB) in modern windows when using any sort of network share (unc or mapped drive).
