"Fons Neelen" | Hi Tim,
In the delphi non-technical newsgroup Hannes Danzl from NexusDB wrote this: >Whichever you choose, on Vista do NOT use a db server in application mode. >First you're asking for trouble when running in user mode (as opposed to >admin >mode) and worse, in the case of a shutdown an application only gets 2 >seconds >to finish it's stuff before it's killed by the OS. As for the issue - this is going to be an issue for *any* application, be it a server or a single-user database application accessing databases locally. I will make sure that the necessary steps are taken in the ElevateDB Server, and then share them with everyone in a technical bulletin. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
