Can I stop and restart the EDB server from my application?
If so, how please?
I need to make sure all open sessions are released before I try to do a restore else I get a locking error.

You can use the standard service control API of Windows to start and stop any service. Only slight issue is it needs elevated permissions, so it may be necessary to write a utility application that takes parameters and you then launch it from your main application and Windows will ask for elevation.

I use some Delphi code that has been around for many years on the net.
