Recreate damaged catalog file |

Accowin LBRP | Hello,
I have a customer who moved my application (client) to a new server but forgot to move the server part (Elevatedb runs as service). The old server crashed and the client gave me a copy of the data on the old server. When ik try to open the database i get "#400 The view already exists in the shema Default" When I look in the ElevateDB manager at the version of Catalog, it is version 0.00 , this should be 2.05 So the catalog is damaged. Is there a way to recreate the catalog based on the information in the tables? Or is there a way to export the data from the tables and the import them in a new database that has been created with empty tables? When I try to copy the EDBDatabase.EDBCat and EDBDatabase.EDBLck from another database with the same structure, I get #100 There is an error in the metadata for the table Belcotaxaangevers (The internal structure deos not match the structure in the catalog) How can I see the actual structure in the table? How can I open the tables orrecover the data ? I have been trying a whole day but no success. Johan De Beuckeleer LBRP Belgium |

Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Johan,
First of all, the "EDBDatabase.EDBLck" file has nothing to do with this and you can simply delete it - it will be automatically recreated when needed, so forget it. That said, if you have another database with the exact same structure, just copying the EDBDatabase.EDBCat to the database folder should work. If it doesn't it's because the structure is not exactly the same or some data files are also damaged. It's perhaps better to contact the support at Elevate Software in this case. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] Às 09:49 de 06/05/2020, Accowin escreveu: > Hello, > I have a customer who moved my application (client) to a new server but forgot to move the server part (Elevatedb runs as service). I agree with Fernando in that you may need to contact Tim, however, does you client not have a backup? If so and the catalog has been backed up as well then you should be able to recover from that. One thing you can try is to move the datafiles to another folder and then open the catalog in EDBManager (it doesn't need the tables there it will recreate them) and you may be able to sort things out. Its unlikely but worth a go. Roy Lambert |
